Author names must be listed in the box marked "Authors:" with last name first, followed by a comma, first name, and any intials, each with a period. Three or more authors must be separated by a comma. The author list must end with a single period and then a space. If there are two or more authors, place an asterisk (*) before the name of the presenting author. Place the address(es) to appear in the abstract in the box marked "Institutional Address(es):". When there two or more authors and two or more addresses, place an Arabic numeral preceded by an underscore (e.g., _1) immediately after each author name and immediately before each address. This web site automatically recognizes the underscore and the number connecting authors with their respective addresses will appear as a superscript in the formatted version. The address list should end with a period and a space. The first letter of the first word of the title should be capitalized; all other words in the title should be in lower case (except for proper nouns, e.g., genus names). The title should end with a period.
The body of the abstract should be entered as plain text only in the box marked "Abstract text:". To remove all embedded word processor control marks, save your file as "plain text" (or equivalent) from the options listed under your "save as" menu. Then select the text and paste it into the abstract box. Italics may be specified as follows: place <i> before the word to be italiczed, followed by </i>, which turns the italics off. Example: <i>Armillaria gallica </i> will appear as Armillaria gallica. (Note: If you forget to include </i> after the word to be italicized, the rest of the block will appear in italics unless this mark appears again.) The length of the text must not exceed 1400 characters (including spaces, not including control marks for italics). Any special characters must be spelled out with Roman letters (e.g., alpha, beta, gamma, etc.).
Please do not submit an abstract more than once. If you find that corrections are needed , please contact David Geiser before the submission deadline.
Things to watch out for:
1. Use the most updated browser that you can find. Java script errors sometimes happen with older browsers. If you get an error message, your abstract is not submitted.
2. Names with accents and other diacritical marks can't be supported for this web version (we will try to support these next year). Use the unmarked version of each character for submission. Diacritical marks will be included in the printed entry in Inoculum. An apostrophe in a name will also cause a problem; you will need to take each apostrophe out for submission.
3. Please not include any paragraph breaks in any of the entry fields.
4. Please read the instructions.
5. Apostrophes in names will cause a problem. Please do not include apostrophes, or replace them with spaces.
